Motherhood

Motherhood taught me something I never fully understood until I had my daughters: photographs become more valuable over time.

Motherhood

Many of the images I keep here were taken at times when I didn't feel perfect. Some were during pregnancy, when my body was changing every day. Others in postpartum, as I was learning to become not only a mother, but also a new version of myself.

As a photographer, I knew how important it was to document those moments, but that didn't make it any easier. Many times it meant making the effort to get ready, prepare everything for the session, and be behind and in front of the camera at the same time. I had to think about light, composition, capturing the image I envisioned, while carrying, soothing, directing, or making my babies laugh. It was a labor of love that often felt exhausting at the time, but today I am deeply grateful to have done it.

Not because of how perfect they might be, but because they hold everything I love most in this life. The moments that passed too quickly and the stages that will never return.

“Because photos do not preserve how you looked. They preserve how you loved.”

They preserve the tiny hands that once fit inside yours, the eyes that looked for you, the hugs that seemed eternal and that, without realizing it, become memories.

My Story as a Mom

Over the years I understood that photographs begin to have immense value when they are all that remains of certain moments.

That is why this gallery is so special to me. Here is my story as a mom. My pregnancies, my daughters, our life together.

They keep the excitement of waiting for my first daughter and discovering a form of love I didn't know. They keep the joy of welcoming my second daughter and seeing how our hearts found space to love even more. They keep the changes, the stages, and the tiny details that transform a family over the years.

When I see these photographs, I don't just see beautiful moments. I see the life I dreamed of. I see the family I imagined having one day and that today I have the blessing of hugging every morning.

I want to tell you that you never regret taking the photo. What usually hurts is not having it.

Because in the end, photographs are one of the few things that time cannot take away. They are the most beautiful way to return to the moments we love most and to preserve, forever, what has the most value in our lives.
